Welcome to TheaterRadar.com. These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of our website, mobile app, community features, movie rating tools, employee experience posts, profile features, media uploads, and related services.
By creating an account, accessing the site, using the app, submitting ratings, posting experiences, uploading media, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. About the Service
Theater Radar is a community platform designed for movie theater workers and related users to rate and discuss movies from the employee perspective. Users may rate movies, submit feedback, answer extra movie information questions, share experiences, react to posts, reply to experiences, upload allowed media, and maintain a user profile.
The service is operated by Cryptic Blue Technologies, based in Aurora, Illinois.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you should use the service only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.
You are responsible for making sure your use of the service complies with any workplace policies, confidentiality agreements, employer rules, or local laws that may apply to you.
3. User Accounts
Some features require an account, including rating movies, posting experiences, reacting to posts, replying to experiences, uploading media, and updating your profile.
You agree to provide accurate information when creating or updating your account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
You may not create an account using another person’s identity, impersonate another person, or provide misleading profile information.
4. User Profiles
Your profile may include information such as your nickname, profile picture, theater chain, ratings, experiences, replies, and other activity. Certain profile information may be visible to other users depending on how the service displays community content.
Do not include private, confidential, sensitive, or personally identifying information in your profile that you do not want other users to see.
5. Ratings, Experiences, Replies, and Community Content
Users may submit ratings, feedback, written experiences, replies, reactions, movie submissions, extra movie information answers, and media uploads. This content is called “User Content.”
You are solely responsible for your User Content. By posting User Content, you represent that you have the right to share it and that it does not violate these Terms, the rights of others, workplace rules, or applicable law.
You agree not to post content that:
- Harasses, threatens, abuses, or targets another person.
- Includes hate speech, discriminatory content, or bullying.
- Reveals private personal information about another person.
- Contains confidential workplace information, trade secrets, or non-public business information.
- Contains illegal content or encourages illegal activity.
- Contains sexually explicit material, graphic violence, or exploitative content.
- Infringes copyrights, trademarks, publicity rights, privacy rights, or other rights.
- Contains spam, scams, malware, phishing attempts, or deceptive links.
- Falsely claims to represent an employer, theater chain, studio, distributor, or third party.
- Intentionally manipulates ratings, reactions, reviews, or movie information.
6. Media Uploads
If media uploads are enabled, users may be allowed to attach images or other permitted media to experiences. Upload limits, file types, and media availability may be changed by site administrators at any time.
You may only upload media that you own or have permission to share. Do not upload media that contains private customer information, private employee information, restricted workplace areas, confidential documents, copyrighted material you do not have permission to share, or anything that violates these Terms.
We may remove media at any time if we believe it violates these Terms or may create risk for users, the service, or third parties.
7. Movie Information and Third-Party Data
Movie pages may include information such as titles, posters, release dates, summaries, ratings, badges, and other details. Some movie information may be submitted by users, entered by administrators, or collected from third-party sources such as movie databases.
We do not guarantee that movie information is accurate, complete, current, or error-free. Movie information is provided for community and informational purposes only.
8. Badges, Ratings, and Extra Movie Information
The service may display ratings, averages, vote totals, badges, extra movie information, and community-reported details such as whether a movie has an end credit scene. These are based on user submissions and administrator settings.
These results are community-generated and may not always be accurate. Do not rely on them as official movie information.
9. Moderation
We may review, edit, hide, remove, or refuse any User Content at our discretion. We may also suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we believe may harm the service, users, or third parties.
We are not obligated to monitor all content, but we reserve the right to do so.
10. User Content License
You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting User Content to the service, you grant Cryptic Blue Technologies a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, modify for formatting, distribute, and use your User Content as needed to operate, improve, promote, and provide the service.
This license ends when your content is deleted from the service, except where continued use is necessary for backups, legal compliance, moderation records, security, or where your content has been shared or interacted with by others.
11. Intellectual Property
The service, including its design, branding, software, features, layout, and original content, is owned by Cryptic Blue Technologies or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, sell, resell, exploit, or use the service in a way that violates our rights or the rights of others.
12. App Store and Mobile App Use
If you access the service through a mobile app or webview, your use may also be subject to the rules and terms of the relevant app platform, device provider, or app distribution service.
Cryptic Blue Technologies is responsible for the service, not any app store or device platform, unless otherwise required by applicable platform rules.
13. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to:
- Access or use the service for unlawful purposes.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or another user’s account.
- Scrape, copy, or harvest data without permission.
- Interfere with or disrupt the service.
- Upload malicious code or harmful files.
- Use bots, scripts, or automation to manipulate ratings, reactions, replies, or movie submissions.
- Misrepresent your identity, employment, affiliation, or relationship with a theater chain or company.
- Use the service to defame, harass, or target individuals or businesses.
14. Account Suspension or Termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account at any time if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk, abused the service, or acted in a way that may harm other users or the platform.
You may stop using the service at any time.
15. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or available at all times.
Ratings, reviews, experiences, replies, badges, and movie information are user-generated or community-generated and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or subjective.
We do not endorse user opinions, workplace claims, ratings, experiences, or third-party content posted on the service.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cryptic Blue Technologies and its owners, employees, contractors, partners, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages arising from your use of the service.
Our total liability for any claim related to the service will be limited to the amount you paid to use the service, if any, during the six months before the claim arose.
17. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Cryptic Blue Technologies from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your use of the service, your User Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another person or third party.
18. Changes to the Service
We may change, suspend, remove, or discontinue features of the service at any time, including ratings, badges, media uploads, movie submissions, replies, profile fields, or community tools.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the Effective Date above. Continued use of the service after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
20. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict of law principles.
